CenturyLink Fiber Network Roping Together the 12 CyrusOne Data Centers

DALLAS, TX: CenturyLink and CyrusOne collaborate to expand the number of CyrusOne data center locations in the U.S. to 12. New CenturyLink fiber connectivity at five additional CyrusOne data centers will assist their customers with global colocation solutions. The increased connectivity and enhanced data center facilities benefits the CyrusOne’s enterprise customers to have a top-tier network as their backup data transport solution.

CenturyLink’s direct connection allows businesses connect to about 300 data centers. It includes more than 60 facilities. The datacenter meet-me rooms that are inbuilt with fiber allows customers to use Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), optical wave service Ethernet and other IP services. Customers can use this service at a speed ranging from 100 Mbps up to 100Gbps, eliminating the local-loop access charges. The network connection by CenturyLink provides customers a hybrid IT strategy which enables an easy methodology for businesses to fulfill their workload requirements, backup data transport solution through additional data centers, service providers and locations that are on-net with the company.

The expansion plans are expected to be complete by early 2016. CenturyLink's fiber network will be housed within CyrusOne's data center facilities at data Austin III, downtown Cincinnati, Houston West III, San Antonio II and Sterling, Va. The current network already includes CyrusOne's Austin Met II, Austin I, Carrollton, Texas, Chandler, Ariz., Houston Galleria, Houston West and Lewisville data centers.

The CyrusOne and CenturyLink together give a metro-enabled interconnection strategy, allowing the customers to utilize the full advantage of the features like high performance, low-cost data transfer and accessibility across several data centers.
