XFdtd's Circuit Element Software Powered by Optenni Lab Optimizes Matching Circuit Topologies
STATE COLLEGE, PA: Remcom integrates Optenni Lab’s matching circuit optimization software to XFdtd Electromagnetic Simulation Software, since it enables XFdtd users to generate a suitable network topology and initial component values for their device.
Remcom provides electromagnetic simulation software and consulting services, while Optenni is known for its matching automatic circuit optimization solution.
"Optenni is a very focused tool that makes it easy to match the circuit for best performance and allows the user to play with what-if scenarios. We felt it was a logical step to add the Optenni link into XFdtd to simplify users' workflow, generate their matching circuit schematic in one easy step, and move more quickly to the full wave optimization phase,” says Rodney Korte, Product Manager, XFdtd.
Chosen topology is physically laid out on the Printed Circuit Board (PCB); where XFdtd's Circuit Element Optimizer completes the matching network design process by finding the optimal component values using full wave FDTD simulation considering the electromagnetic phenomenon like coupling.
XFdtd’s full wave solver calculates the S-parameters and efficiency of an unmatched device; the results are then fed into Optenni, to provide a series of optimized matching circuit topologies meeting the desired criteria.
Unlike other EM simulation programs, XFdtd's Circuit Element Optimizer takes antenna matching schematic into electromagnetic simulation and optimizes the aggregated circuit elements directly into the respective physical circuit layout.
